  1. Indian Rhinoceros: Kaziranga National Park is home to the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceros, with around 2,400 individuals. The park is a significant conservation area for this endangered species.
  2. Royal Bengal Tiger: Kaziranga National Park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tigers, with around 118 individuals. The tigers in Kaziranga inhabit many habitats, including tall grasslands, wetlands, and forests.
  3. Asian Elephant: The park has a large population of Asian Elephants, with around 1,200 individuals. Visitors can spot these majestic animals during elephant safaris and jeep safaris.
  4. Hoolock Gibbon: The Hoolock Gibbon, a species of primate found in the park, is the only species of ape found in India. The park is home to the western hoolock gibbon, endangered by the IUCN.
  5. Wild Water Buffalo: Kaziranga National Park is home to the world’s largest population of wild water buffalo, with around 1,500 individuals. These large bovines can be seen grazing in the park’s grasslands.
  6. Other animals: Other notable animals found in the park include swamp deer, hog deer, sambar deer, barking deer, wild boar, Indian muntjac, leopard, clouded leopard, fishing cat, and small Indian civet.
  7. Birds: Kaziranga National Park is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 480 species. Some notable bird species in the park include the great Indian hornbill, osprey, fishing eagle, Bengal florican, and black-necked stork.
